WB Country Director Rejects News Regarding Delay in Disbursement of Loan

ISLAMABAD: World Bank’s Country Director for Pakistan Najy Benhassine has rejected the news that appeared in the media regarding the delay in the approval of loans for Pakistan, adding that all dates and details of the loans are according to the schedule and already planned by the board of the bank.

The Country Director said this while taking to his Twitter handle on Thursday.

He added that all such loans and grants are usually being processed according to the rules and regulations, followed by proper screening of the board with a subsequent suitable time for releasing the funds.

It is worth noting that a piece of news was circulating in the media the other day regarding the delay in the disbursement of a $1.1 billion loan by the World Bank.

Najy Benhassine is currently serving as World Bank Country Director for Pakistan, who assumed charge in August 2020 and replaced Illango Patchamuhu, who completed his term on the 31st of July of the same year.
