WASHINGTON: The United States (US) said on Thursday they would send hundreds of armored vehicles, artillery shells, and rockets to Ukraine as part of a $2.5 billion military aid package.
Pentagon said in a statement that the military package includes 90 Stryker Armored Personnel Carriers, 59 Bradley Fighting Vehicles, 350 high mobility multipurpose wheeled vehicles, and 53 mine-resistant ambush-protected vehicles.
The armored Bradley has a powerful gun and has been used by the US Army to carry forces around battlegrounds since the 1980s.

In total, the US has committed over $27.4 billion in security help to Kyiv since Russia attacked in February last year.

Western countries have promised billions of dollars in arms for Ukraine. Fearing winter will give Russian troops time to regroup, Kyiv is pushing for more aid to combat Russia’s invasion.
In his visit to Washington in December, President Zelenskiy told the US Congress that help to Kyiv is an investment in democracy rather than charity while pressing for continued US support.
