DUBAI: The US has strongly denounced the Israeli Minister’s “inflammatory remarks” he made regarding Palestinians, and said that it condemned “all racist rhetoric.”

This was stated by the US State Department in a statement, Arab media reported on Friday. The extremist minister Itamar Ben-Gvir said during an interview on Israeli TV that his rights in the occupied West Bank are more vital than Palestinians. His remarks sparked a storm of protest and criticism online as video clips of his remarks spread through social media, the British media reported on Friday.
The extremist minister’s remarks went viral and triggered a criticism from Palestinians and Israel opposition parties. One of those who shared a video of his remarks on social media was Palestinian American model Bella Hadid. In her post on social media, she posted: “In no place, no time … should one life be more valuable than another’s.”
The Palestinian Authority also denounced “in the strongest terms the heinous and racist comments by Israel’s fascist and extremist minister Itamar Ben-Gvir.
Karine Elharrar, an Israeli opposition leader also criticized the remarks and termed the fascist minister as a representative of racist government.
Reacting over the matter, the US State Department said, “We strongly denounce Israeli Minister’s inflammatory remarks on the freedom of movement of Palestinians in the West Bank”.
The statement maintained, “We also condemn all racist rhetoric.” Earlier, the European Union also “strongly denounced” Ben-Gvir for his remarks about Palestinians.”
