Vision 2030: Saudi Arabia Grants Halal Certificates to Over 219 Facilities

RIYADH: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Food and Drug Authority granted the halal certificate to over 219 facilities.

These certificates have been granted by the Halal Center of Health Sector Transformation Program, a key initiative under Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, affiliated with the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA).

The program revealed that there are more than 62 entities authorized to issue the halal certification, along with 13 initiatives aimed at strengthening Saudi Arabia’s position in the halal economy.

Halal Certificates to Promote Safety and Legality of Products

The Saudi Halal Center is dedicated to ensuring that products, including food, medicines, and cosmetics, comply with Islamic law and do not contain any prohibited ingredients.

The center’s responsibilities include the issuance of halal certificates to relevant establishments and organizations, conducting specialized research to enhance product quality control, and implementing various training programs.

The center plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and legality of products consumed by individuals in Saudi Arabia. It also harbors ambitious aspirations to align with Saudi Arabia’s vision of achieving global leadership in the field of halal food and products, serving as a trusted and recognized reference worldwide.

Furthermore, the center actively contributes to the goal of enhancing preventive measures against health risks, aligning with the objectives of the Health Sector Transformation Program.
