ISLAMABAD: Congress spokesperson Dr Shama Mohamed has said that a church in Ahmedabad was attacked by Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal goons during Easter Sunday prayers.

She posted on X formerly known as twitter, “A church in Ahmedabad was attacked by VHP and Bajrang Dal goons during Easter Sunday prayers.”

Christians under attack

She added, “after Muslims, now Christians are under continuous attack in BJP-ruled states. @RajeevRC_X, @BJP4Keralam — why are these fake sympathizers of the Christian community silent now?”

She also shared the video of the attack on her social media account.

The video showed VHP extremists barging into the church with weapons, including knives and sticks, and threatening women and children during the worship.

Despite the video going viral, Ahmedabad Police downplayed the incident, stating that VHP members “went” to the church suspecting religious conversion, according to local media.
