BRUSSELS: The Embassy of Pakistan in Brussels organized a virtual briefing session for Pakistani Missions in European member states to discuss the evolving dynamics of trade relations.
The comprehensive briefing covered crucial trade and commercial aspects, including significant mechanisms and developments related to expanding the scope of the Generalized System of Preferences Plus (GSP+) scheme and the extension of GSP Regulation by the European Parliament. Representatives from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Commerce, and the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), along with diplomats from all Pakistani missions in Europe, participated in the session.
Ambassador Amna Baloch, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the European Union, Belgium, and Luxembourg, provided an overview of trade and development relations to enhance participants’ understanding. She emphasized the importance of close coordination among Pakistan’s diplomatic missions in the European Union, calling for a unified approach in addressing trade-related issues and exploring prospects.
The session also featured TDAP sharing details about the upcoming 3rd Engineering and Healthcare Show scheduled to take place in Lahore from January 18th to 20th, 2023. The goal is to encourage maximum participation from potential buyers and investors from Europe.
This initiative underscores the commitment of the Pakistan Embassy in Belgium to foster collaborative efforts among Pakistani diplomatic missions. The aim is to ensure a concerted approach in safeguarding Pakistan’s commercial and economic interests in the European Union.
