Vietnam, Arab League Ink MoU to Strengthen Relations

CAIRO: Vietnam’s Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang and Arab League (AL) Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul-Gheit inked on Wednesday an MoU to promote bilateral ties, according to a statement released by the Arab League.

Aboul-Gheit stressed the significance of strengthening the ties between members of the Arab League and Vietnam in diverse sectors.

Heading a high-profile delegation, the Vietnamese authorities lauded the Arab League for its role in maintaining regional security and peace.

According to the Arab League, this is the 2nd MoU of its kind that was inked between the Arab body with southeastern Asian nations after the first one was signed with Indonesia in 2016.

The Arab League seeks to continue to boost its ties with southeastern Asian countries at all levels, the statement said.
