ISLAMABAD: Vietnam’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Nguyen Tien Phong has termed the film a strong medium for cultural diplomacy, adding film can further strengthen cultural ties between Vietnam and Pakistan. He vowed that his country wants to further enhance cultural ties with Pakistan.

The ambassador expressed these remarks during a special screening of the Vietnamese film “Yellow Flowers on the Green Grass” in Islamabad.

He expressed hope that such events would foster a deeper connection between the people of Vietnam, and Pakistan. Phong extended a warm welcome to the attendees of the Film Festival. Ambassador Nguyen Tien Phong emphasized that the film screening was an opportunity to showcase Vietnam’s rich heritage and culture to the people of Pakistan.

He highlighted that “Yellow Flowers on the Green Grass,” based on a novel by renowned author Nguyen Nhat, tells a touching tale of innocent love, friendships, and brotherhood in a rural village, focusing on the lives of the youth. The event was attended by the Diplomatic Community and Pakistani government officials.

The screening was part of the ASEAN Movie Nights 2024, a significant initiative organized by the ASEAN Committee in Islamabad.

This event is a collaborative effort of representatives from seven ASEAN member countries, including the Embassy of Vietnam, aimed at promoting the culture, people, and tourism of ASEAN to both local and international audiences.
