LONDON: British actress Vanessa Kirby has stirred excitement among fans after gushing about her co-star Pedro Pascal, calling him the “best ever” as an on-screen husband and saying she would be “first in line” to marry him.
During a promotional interview with Hits Radio for Marvel’s upcoming film Fantastic Four: First Steps, Kirby, who plays Sue Storm opposite Pascal’s Reed Richards, spoke candidly about her admiration for The Last of Us star.
When asked what kind of husband Pascal would be, she responded with affection and humour.
“I mean, who wouldn’t want to marry Pedro? I’m like first in the line, darling,” the Crown star said.
Pascal responded modestly, “I could give you a long list of people who wouldn’t want to marry me,” prompting Kirby to double down: “He was the best ever (as an on-screen husband).”

The light-hearted exchange continued as Kirby teased, “There’s no smoke without fire,” with Pascal jokingly replying, “Look at the two of us and decide who’s smoking.”
The interview sparked speculation and delight among fans, who have long admired the chemistry between the two stars.
Their friendly banter and mutual admiration have fuelled interest in the Marvel reboot, directed by Matt Shakman, which is set to hit cinemas worldwide on Friday, 25 July, as part of Phase Six of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
Kirby, 36, had earlier expressed her deep admiration for Pascal in a separate interview with Madame Figaro, describing him as one of the “great loves” of her life.
“It was one of the best days of my life when he said yes [to the role]. It’s insane how much love I have for this man, and I’m not alone, which is quite annoying,” she told the publication.
She added, “It’s a beautiful gift to me. He’ll be in my heart always.”
Pascal, known for roles in Game of Thrones, The Mandalorian, and The Last of Us, responded with his signature humour, telling Kirby to “chill” before the moment became too emotional.
Fantastic Four: First Steps also stars Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm.
The film marks the second cinematic reboot of the Fantastic Four series and is one of the most anticipated entries in the next phase of the MCU.
