Van-Truck Collision Claims Five Lives in Pakistan’s Sargodha City

SARGODHA: A devastating collision between a van and a truck near Ahmadwala area in Sargodha district on Lahore Road has left at least five people dead, and three others sustained injuries on Saturday.

Rescue 1122 sources reported that a van en route from Faisalabad to Sargodha collided with a recklessly driven truck approaching from the opposite direction. As a result of the collision, five passengers, including Mukhtar Khan Lodhi (74), Hassan (30), Muhammad Usman (28), Waqas (26), and an unidentified man died on the spot. Meanwhile, three other passengers suffered severe injuries in the accident and were rushed to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Bhagtanwala for medical treatment.

The local police of the Local law enforcement registered a case against the truck driver and initiated an investigation into the incident.

Meanwhile, Commissioner Sargodha, Muhammad Ajmal Bhatti, Regional Police Officer Shariq Kamal Siddiqui, and Deputy Commissioner Captain (Retired) Shoaib Ali promptly arrived at Bhagtanwala Hospital. They personally assessed the medical care being provided to the injured.

Commissioner Muhammad Ajmal Bhatti directed the hospital’s Medical Superintendent to ensure the best possible treatment for the injured victims. He also instructed the Deputy Commissioner to maintain contact with the families of the deceased individuals and extend all necessary support to them during this difficult time.
