SAMARKAND: Uzbekistan’s Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov declared Belarus as a “reliable partner” during the Uzbekistan-Belarus business forum held in Samarkand. The event, organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan in collaboration with the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, witnessed the participation of Belarus’ Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko alongside Prime Minister Aripov.

Speaking at the business forum, Prime Minister Aripov expressed the significance of the partnership between Uzbekistan and Belarus, attributing the positive trajectory to the political will demonstrated by the respective presidents. Aripov highlighted that this commitment has elevated the level of interaction between the two nations to a qualitatively new stage.

“Our bilateral trade is steadily growing. We continue implementing joint projects in various sectors of the economy, building contacts in culture, education, and healthcare. Ministries, government agencies, regional governments, and businesses maintain close contacts, which helps facilitate bilateral cooperation. Yet, we have a lot of untapped potential,” remarked Prime Minister Aripov.

Aripov emphasized that the successful execution of joint projects, particularly in sectors such as pharmaceutics, agriculture, and information technology, will serve as a catalyst for further collaboration. He proposed an escalation of mutual visits and the organization of a forum of regions in the near future to enhance engagement between the two nations.

“I am glad to see representatives of the business circles of Uzbekistan and Belarus at the forum. Such a big number of delegates is a testimony to the mutual interest in expanding contacts, jointly searching for new forms of cooperation,” Aripov noted. He extended an invitation to implement joint projects that focus on creating in-demand products with the potential for export to third-country markets.
