TASHKENT, Uzbekistan: Uzbekistan has outlined strategies to enhance the economic prosperity of Tashkent’s districts by launching projects in various industrial zones, as per reports from Trend.

During a meeting, the Uzbek president’s office disclosed plans to analyze additional districts of the Tashkent region to identify areas for growth and revenue enhancement.

Key initiatives include establishing an Uzbek-Hungarian industrial zone in the Akhangaran district, with projects valued at $100 million. Additionally, projects worth $400 million will be initiated in the Angren free economic zone for manufacturing household appliances, rolled metal products, and processing fruits and vegetables. Furthermore, the Eltech Industrial Technopark will witness projects worth $260 million.

The meeting participants emphasized the importance of accelerating economic and social projects by attracting foreign direct investment. Industrial enterprises will gradually relocate from the capital, paving the way for significant opportunities in the Tashkent region.

Support will be extended to self-employed individuals transitioning to small businesses, alongside efforts to revive the operations of entrepreneurs who have halted work. Drawing from the success of the Chinaz Oil Refinery, plans include establishing compact greenhouses and processing complexes through cooperative ventures.

Meanwhile, Uzbekistan is set to inaugurate the Ipak Yuli Free Economic Zone (FEZ) in Andijan district, aimed at attracting local and foreign investments and producing goods for both domestic and international markets.

Projections indicate that the FEZ will draw foreign investments worth $3 billion by the end of next year, with an annual industrial output exceeding 20.1 trillion soums ($1.6 billion).
