Uzbekistan Tops Central Asia in Open Data Inventory

BISHKEK: Uzbekistan has secured the leading position in Central Asia and the 30th place worldwide in the Open Data Inventory (ODIN) ranking, achieving a score of 70 points, according to an announcement from the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Kyrgyzstan.

The ranking evaluates countries based on the coverage and openness of their official statistics, aiming to identify gaps, promote open data policies, enhance access to information, and facilitate communication between national statistical offices and data users.

Kazakhstan secured the 51st rank globally with 63 points, while Kyrgyzstan followed at 92nd place with 51 points. Tajikistan stood at the 126th position with 42 points, and Turkmenistan attained the 195th position with 1 point.

Uzbekistan’s Commitment to Transparency and Data Sharing

The ODIN ranking, which assesses 195 countries worldwide, provides a comprehensive overview of the accessibility and transparency of official statistical data. It serves as a valuable tool for assessing the openness of data practices and fostering collaboration between governments, statistical agencies, and the public.

Uzbekistan’s achievement in topping the Central Asia region and securing a notable global ranking underscores the country’s commitment to transparency and data sharing, which are crucial elements for informed policy-making, evidence-based decision-making, and fostering an environment of accountability.
