TASHKENT: Uzbekistan and Russia have discussed the major issues of dynamically developing bilateral cooperation in various areas.
The matter was discussed during a telephone conversation between the President of Russia Vladimir Putin and the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Both parties discussed issues on the global and regional agenda and Russia’s current chairmanship of BRICS.
The two sides reaffirmed their determination to go an extra mile to boost the relations of alliance and strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Russia.
Meanwhile, Uzbekistan’s foreign trade volume with Russia amounted to US $5.7 billion from January through June 2024. This figure is 29.5 percent higher than in January of June 2023.
Russia ranked second among the nations with the largest volume of foreign trade turnover in Uzbekistan. The country’s share in the total volume of trade turnover in Uzbekistan is 18.1 percent.
