KABUL: Uzbekistan’s Special Envoy for Afghanistan, Ismatullah Ergashev, has said that approximately 6,000 tons of commercial goods were exported to Pakistan via Afghanistan over the past year, attributing this achievement to the improved security environment since the establishment of the Islamic Emirate.
Ergashev and his delegation conveyed this accomplishment during a meeting with Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanekzai, Deputy Foreign Minister of Afghanistan. The discussion highlighted Uzbekistan’s efforts to enhance economic ties and trade interactions between the two countries.
In response, Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanekzai expressed gratitude for Uzbekistan’s supportive and fraternal relationship with Afghanistan. He emphasized the significance of establishing a robust framework to facilitate trade between Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, and Pakistan, fostering economic collaboration.
Uzbekistan Aims to Strengthen Trade Relations with Afghanistan
The ongoing efforts to strengthen economic linkages are evident in the presence of a 30-member Uzbek commercial delegation in Kabul, led by Kholmurodov Nozimjon, Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan. This delegation is engaged in discussions and collaborations to further bolster trade relations between the nations.
The successful export of commercial goods from Uzbekistan to Pakistan through Afghanistan signifies progress towards regional connectivity and economic cooperation. The establishment of secure trade routes and collaboration among these nations is poised to contribute to the growth and development of the region.
