BEIJING: Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has characterized the Uzbekistan-China relations as reaching a historical pinnacle in an article ahead of his state visit to China, scheduled from Tuesday to Thursday.
In the article published in the People’s Daily on Monday, Mirziyoyev commended China’s ongoing reforms, emphasizing the nation’s achievements, creative prowess, diligence, and talent in the pursuit of modernization. He lauded China’s global role, acknowledging its leading positions in world politics and governance.
Mirziyoyev highlighted President Xi Jinping’s global initiatives, particularly in development, security, and inter-civilizational dialogue, emphasizing their significant contributions to addressing common global challenges and fostering a more sustainable and inclusive future.
The article underscored China’s substantial role in supporting the economic growth of developing countries through expanded trade and investment cooperation and the implementation of infrastructure connectivity projects.
Mirziyoyev expressed Uzbekistan’s sincere pleasure in China’s successes, emphasizing that the development of multifaceted relations with China remains a top priority in Uzbekistan’s foreign policy.
Mirziyoyev proposed a five-point plan in the article to develop a new long-term agenda and forward-looking programs for the implementation of key tasks in multidimensional cooperation. He called for the strengthening of global inter-civilizational dialogue, emphasizing the need to create conditions for peace, stability, and mutually acceptable compromises on pressing issues.
Additionally, the president expressed interest in elevating bilateral relations to a qualitatively new and higher level. He stressed the importance of maintaining a dynamic pace of all-round trade and economic development in light of emerging challenges such as energy, food, and environmental crises. Mirziyoyev called for joint efforts to develop transport and logistics infrastructure as part of the Belt and Road Initiative.
