Uzbekistan: Election Commission Announces Turnout in Early Voting for Presidential Election

TASHKENT:  The Uzbekistan Central Election Commission (CEC) has said a total of 376,623 citizens have voted in advance in the country’s presidential elections, local media reported on Sunday. Among them, as many as 275,592 voters have cast their votes within the country, while 101,031 voters took part in the elections outside the country.

The early voting stage for the presidential polls in Uzbekistan commenced on June 28, giving an opportunity for people unable to be present at their place of residence on day of elections to cast their ballots in advance. The Uzbekistan Central Election Commission (CEC) said that early voting phase will continue until Wednesday, leading up to the poll day scheduled for July 9, 2023.
