TASHKENT: The Ministry of Defense of Uzbekistan has rejected reports about Afghan helicopter shot down on Afghan-Uzbek Border, local media reported on Tuesday.

The claims were initially published by Russian political scientist Andrei Serenko via his Telegram channel, suggesting that a Mi-17 helicopter, purportedly departing from Mazar-i-Sharif to Badakhshan, had entered Uzbekistani airspace. According to him, the helicopter was carrying over 15 individuals.

However, the Ministry of Defense of Uzbekistan has refuted these reports and termed it baseless. They have urged media outlets and social media users to rely solely on official sources of information.
