USD Continues Upward Surge Against Rupee

ISLAMABAD: The US Dollar continued its upward surge against the Pakistani Rupee on Monday, having been traded at Rs218.25 against PKR in the Interbank.

According to the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), in the ‘open market’, the US dollar was being traded between Rs220 to Rs222.

Earlier on Friday, the US dollar gained some ground over the local currency and appreciated to close at Rs218.43 in the interbank market.

Friday’s resurgence by the Greenback follows several days of weakening against the rupee, after Ishaq Dar assumed office as new finance minister.
