WASHINGTON: The United States has called on North Korea to cease further “threatening” activities and embrace “serious and sustained” diplomacy following Pyongyang’s recent launch of several cruise missiles.
The State Department emphasized North Korea’s increasing engagement in “threatening” and “irresponsible” military actions, including missile launches.
A spokesperson from the State Department urged the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) to refrain from escalating tensions and participate in meaningful dialogue. The U.S. remains committed to a diplomatic approach and emphasizes its steadfast defense commitments to the Republic of Korea (ROK) and Japan.
The Pentagon echoed these sentiments, stating that the U.S. will collaborate with South Korea and Japan to address the challenges posed by North Korean military activities. The focus remains on upholding regional peace and stability through diplomatic efforts.
