US, UK, China Top Three Destinations of Pakistani Exports in July

ISLAMABAD: The top three export destinations for goods from Pakistan in the first month of the current fiscal year 2023–24 were the United States (US), the United Kingdom (UK), and China.

State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) data shows that total exports to the US decreased by 13.38 percent in July 2023 to USD 432.803 million from USD 499.686 million in July 2022.

Following this was the UK, where Pakistan shipped items worth USD 169.789 million compared to USD 160.114 million the previous year, showing a growth of 6.04 percent.

According to SBP data, China ranked third among Pakistan’s leading export destinations, receiving goods worth USD 147.385 million during the reviewed month compared to USD 174.056 last financial year.

Among other countries, Pakistani exports to the UAE increased by 22.07 percent, from USD109.772 million to USD134.002 million. The data reveals that exports to Germany increased by 12.17 percent, from USD1137.026 million to USD 121.175 million.

The exports to Holland were $106.080 million in July 2023 against $114.886 million, and the exports to Italy were $96.274 million against $105.300 million.

Compared to last year, Pakistan’s exports to Spain totaled $119.583 million, while its exports to Afghanistan were $42.173 million compared to $31.757 million. Bangladesh received USD 50.731 million in exports compared to USD 71.147 million in imports.

Similarly, exports to France were 46.076 million dollars in the reviewed month compared to 43.074 million dollars, while exports to Belgium were 54.000 million dollars as opposed to 65.549 million dollars.

During the current year, Pakistan’s exports to Saudi Arabia increased to $42.634 million from USD 29.666 million last year, while exports to Turkey decreased to $30.808 million from USD 30.157 million. —APP
