JERUSALEM: United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken was scheduled to meet Palestinian leadership on Tuesday for his final stop of a Middle East tour to de-escalate the worst Palestinian-Israeli violence in years.
After meeting with Israeli premier Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday, the United States Secretary of State urged both sides to take urgent measures to calm tensions.
US ready to work for peace
Western media reported that the US Secretary of State said that Washington would work to restore a sense of security craved by Palestinians and Israelis alike.
Israel is shocked after an attack outside a synagogue in annexed east Jerusalem on Friday, which killed 7 civilians, a day after a deadly raid of the Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank killed ten Palestinians.
Since the beginning of the year, the violence has killed 35 Palestinian children and adults, including civilians, militants, and attackers.
On the Israeli side, 6 civilians, including a child and one Ukrainian, have lost their lives.
