WASHINGTON: The US military officials said on Sunday that it is conducting search for remnants of the Chinese balloon it shot down on Saturday day, in a theatrical spy saga that has strained US-China relations.
General Glen VanHerck US Northern Command said that the US Navy is working in order to recover the balloon and its payload while the Coast Guard is providing security for the ongoing operation.

A US fighter jet on Saturday shot down the suspected balloon off the coast of South Carolina.
Republican party lawmakers criticized Joe Biden for waiting days to shoot down the suspected balloon as it floated over the US, accusing Biden of showing weakness toward Beijing and initially did disclose the matter.
Democrats added Biden’s decision to wait to shoot down the Chinese balloon until it had passed over the US protected civilian masses from wreckages crashing to earth.
