US Provides Worth $7.5 mln Medical Oxygen Supplies to Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: The United States (US) government, through the United States Agency for International Development , provided $7.5 million worth of medical oxygen supplies to Pakistan’s Health Ministry.

The medical support will also provide training to 163 hospitals across Pakistan to increase the capability of hospitals to treat patients suffering from lung conditions and severe COVID-19 symptoms.

Pakistan’s Health Minister, Abdul Qadir Patel, received the United States medical supplies in a ceremony at the Health Ministry in Islamabad.

US support shows strong relations with Pakistan

Speaking on the occasion, the Health Minister expressed that the United States’ support showed the strong bilateral relations between Pakistan and the United States.

United States Ambassador Donald Blome said on the occasion, “United States donation to Pakistan is not just about COVID-19 disease. It is the United States’ investment into Pakistan’s long-term health system.

This assistance continued throughout the corona pandemic and is now assisting Pakistan in addressing the serious effects of the flash floods on health.”
