US President’s Home Searched by Justice Department, More Classified Documents Found

WASHINGTON: The US Justice Department found more classified materials during a Friday search of President Biden’s Wilmington, Delaware house, an attorney for Biden said on Saturday night.

Biden’s lawyer Bob Bauer said that some of materials were from his tenure as vice president from 2009 through 2017.  The lawyer added that the US Department of Justice also took notes that Joe Biden had personally handwritten as vice president.

Bauer added that President Biden offered access to his house to permit Department of Justice to conduct a search of the entire areas for potential vice presidential records and classified material. He added that Biden and his wife were not present during the search at their home.

According to Reuters, the new documents join other classified government materials previously discovered in the current month at Biden’s home and in November at a his private office at Washington, think tank following ending his tenure as vice president in 2017.
