WARSAW: Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki has said that he and US President Joe Biden will talk about possibly increasing US forces presence in Poland during Biden’s next trip to Warsaw, western media reported on Sunday.

Morawiecki told the media that they are in the process of discussion with Biden’s administration about making their (US) forces presence more permanent and increasing them. He said, “I am very grateful for sending new Patriot systems and other modern arms.
US President Joe Biden will visit Poland from February 20 to February 22 to mark the 1st anniversary of Russia’s attack of Ukraine.
CBS reported that the US strengthened its troop presence in Poland ahead of the February 24, 2022, invasion and presently has 11,000 soldiers on rotation there.
President Joe Biden said last June that Washington would establish a new permanent army headquarters in Poland in response to Russia’s threats.
White House said that the US President will hold meetings with Polish President and Eastern European allies and talk about Ukraine, but has no plans to cross into Ukraine.
