NEW YORK: Ex-US national security adviser John Bolton has termed Iran’s threats against American officials and its overseas opponents as “unprecedented” in recent times.
Bolton told Arab News that the government of Iran is systematically making attempt to eliminate opposition to its policies.
He claimed that US President Joe Biden still wants to get back into a nuclear deal with Iran
He said they can say it’s not on the agenda but it is still alive. He maintained that for many in Washington, the resistance that they see in Iran today is inconvenient to its higher objective of getting back into the nuclear agreement.
He added that Iran can live with the status quo for a long time. He claimed that Iran’s nuclear arms and ballistic missile programs continue to make progress.

Ex-US Security Adviser Terms Iran’s Threats Unprecedented
Bolton said that the US and others did not insist Tehran make a clear decision to give up its pursuit of nuclear arms. He termed it a “biggest mistake”.
The former US official said that Tehran reaffirmed to itself at global level that it wanted nuclear and it would use the agreement to revive the country’s economy, to provide more resources, not just for the weapons program, but for the missile program.
