WASHINGTON: US President Joe Biden has said that Republicans should be ashamed of backing an effort by a television to playing down the gravity of the January 6, 2021 attack on Congress by a mob of former President Donald Trump supporters.
US President Joe Biden and Republicans
The US President tweeted, “Over 140 officers were wounded on Jan 6.: How dare anyone deny the hell. I hope Republicans feel ashamed for what was done to challenge our law enforcement.”
More than 140 officers were injured on Jan 6.
I’ve said before: How dare anyone diminish or deny the hell they went through?
I stand with the @CapitolPolice.
I hope House Republicans feel ashamed for what was done to undermine our law enforcement. https://t.co/pES1zApH9Y

The US President showed support for the Capitol Hill police, whose head has accused Fox News of manipulating footage of the unprecedented attack after Donald Trump’s polls defeat.
In a statement, head of Capitol Police Thomas Manger said that Fox News program aired this week was “filled with misleading and offensive and conclusions.”
The January 6 attack forced a gap in the constitutional process of certifying Joe Biden’s election win, while scores of legislators fled, fearing for their lives.
AFP reported that recently elected Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy provided more than 41,000 hours of raw video footage from Capitol security cameras to Carlson, who hosts a popular TV show on Fox. Carlson then edited the video to validate his argument that the mobs were peaceful.
