WASHINGTON: The United States (US) President Joe Biden has declared the nuclear deal with Iran to limit the country’s nuclear program as dead, however, he refused to announce that publicly.

Biden says this in a video, which appears to be genuine. The video shows Biden being asked by a lady to announce that the nuclear deal signed with Iran in 2015 is no longer effective.

US President’s comments, which the US President’s House did not deny, came to the surface as Iran refused to bow to months of pressure to approve the final stipulations of a deal to revive the nuclear agreement. The agreement was abandoned by Biden’s predecessor former president Donald Trump earlier in 2018.

Talks to resume the nuclear deal have been underway in Vienna since the month of April 2021, and at one point both US and Iran appeared very close to an agreement.

National security spokesman of the White House John Kirby said no one was questioning the video’s authenticity.

He said the US still wishes to restore the Iran nuclear deal, however, this is not Washington’s priority, due to the Ukraine war.
