In a statement, the US Central Command said, “We have identified eleven additional cases of Traumatic Brain Injury in last month attacks in eastern part if Syria,”.

At least 25 US personnel were wounded as a result of the attacks and counter-attacks in eastern Syria, which also killed a US contractor and wounded another.

The Pentagon said that 8 militants were also killed during retaliatory US attacks against the militants in Syria.

Reports said that it is not the 1st time US forces in the region have been diagnosed with such injuries from strikes.

In 2020, over 100 US personnel were diagnosed with brain injuries stemming from an attack by Iran against a US base in Iraq.

Meanwhile, Syrian Minister for Foreign Affairs Faisal Mekdad has arrived in Algeria. It is likely that Mekdad will visit Tunis soon. Tunisia and Syria agreed on Wednesday to reopen their embassies.
