Pakistan Advancing Electric Vehicle Sector
The discussions led by the US delegation centered on advancing the future of Artificial Intelligence (AI), exploring its versatile applications, and formulating a comprehensive national AI policy. The delegation also deliberated on Pakistan’s potential to embrace the electric vehicle (EV) revolution, considering the country’s current ownership of fewer than 6,000 EVs and a limited number of charging stations.

The delegation also emphasized the importance of a robust National Semiconductor Policy and the urgent need for an AI Policy to guide the growth of these sectors.
Furthermore, the conversation touched upon the necessity of a National Data Management Policy, crucial for safeguarding sensitive data and fostering an environment conducive to innovation.
Dr. Gohar Ejaz commended the collaborative spirit demonstrated during the meeting and acknowledged the shared vision between Pakistan and the United States in advancing the fields of EVs, semiconductors, and AI. These discussions mark a significant stride toward unlocking the full potential of these sectors and strengthening economic ties between the two nations.
