WASHINGTON: The United States and Japan have condemned North Korea’s attempted spy satellite launch, Western media reported on Thursday.
In a statement, the White House denounced North Korea’s attempted launch and termed it a violation of the United Nations Security Council resolutions. The US National Security Council spokesperson Adrienne Watson said that even though the attempt of North Korea failed but it was “a violation of UNSC resolutions. She added, “It increases tensions, and also risks destabilizing the regional security situation,”.
US, Japan Condemn North Korea Spy Satellite Launch
Similarly, Japan’s Prime Minister Fumio Kishida also condemned North Korea’s attempted satellite launch. Fumio Kishida told the media persons, “By broadly measuring all factors, we have confirmed and consider it a failure. However, the Prime Minister said that this was the violation of the UN resolutions and “we are already firmly protesting.”
Earlier, North Korea’s attempt to put a spy satellite into orbit has failed, state media reported on Thursday. “The spy satellite launch failed because of an error in the emergency blasting system during the flight,” the report added the problem was “not a major issue” and vowed to carry out a third try in October.

Japan’s top government spokesman Hirokazu Matsuno said the latest launch by North Korea is extremely problematic for the safety of residents in the region as well as for aircraft and ships.
Pyongyang on Tuesday conveyed Japan’s coast guard about the launching of a satellite between August 24 and 31. Japan soon after the development moved its ships and put its PAC-3 missile defense system on alert in case anything was to land in its territory.
The launch comes just after leaders of the US, Japan and South Korea met at Camp David in the US, following the start of a major US-South Korea joint military exercise on Monday.
