NEW YORK: Settlement between Washington and Tehran offers an opportunity for regional peace, Oman’s Minister for Foreign Affairs said on Wednesday.
Sayyid Badr Al-Busaidi said that the recent prisoner swap between the US and Washington would lead to further talks and closer relations in the coming months. He expressed these remarks while addressing the inaugural Middle East Global Summit in New York, Arab News reported.

He said even if compromise is “slow and challenging,” it is significant for Washington and Tehran to “maintain a momentum of trust … and de-escalation” to safeguard the stability of the international economy. He added that he is “in support of having a forum where Tehran can talk bilaterally”.
He further said that the key to the security and integration of the Middle East is to “admit that all of us are part of the region”.
