WASHINGTON: The United States is hoping Iran will stop selling drones to Russia, a move that is viewed to de-escalate the tensions between the two countries.
The drones from Iran are being used by Russia against Ukraine in the ongoing war. The two sides Iran and the United States have so far given no answer to the query raised.
The nuclear deal added with prisoner exchange is few of the points the two sides will hold discussions on.
Iran has four US citizens in its custody and the deal last week resulted in having the four prisoners removed from prison to house arrest and the fifth prisoner is already under house arrest.
United States Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said any steps from Iran in deescalating the tension are welcome. Former president Donald Trump cancelled the nuclear deal.
