WASHIGNTON: US First Lady Jill Biden has contracted COVID-19, while President Joe Biden has tested negative, the White House said on Tuesday.
The development might affect the travel plans of President Biden who is scheduled to visit India to attend Group of 20 (G20) summit in New Delhi.
As per western media reports the 72-year-old first lady is having mild symptoms and will stay at her home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. Last year in August Jill Biden also tested positive for COVID-19.

President Biden, aged 80, also took a COVID-19 test on Monday evening, however, it was negative.
The White House has said that Biden will be tested regularly and monitored for any symptoms. The US has recently seen a surge in COVID cases with hospitalizations across the country.
The White House has not yet remarked about the President’s international travel plans after the first lady’s diagnosis.
