KSA-US ties
Jeddah is Saudi Arabia’s coastal city, was the receiving point of evacuees from the war-hit country Sudan through air and sea until Thursday when Saudi Arabia concluded evacuation operations as the warring parties agreed on a safe path of humanitarian aid in Sudan.
“Our embassy in the Kingdom is working with the help of our Saudi partners to assist American citizens evacuated from Sudan,” Ratney said.
“The United States and KSA have joint mutual interests, among them is ending the crisis in Sudan and the suffering of the people of Sudan.” “I am excited to be in the Kingdom at this moment of history, and I look forward to further enhancing these significant ties between Washington and Riyadh,” the envoy concluded.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) and the United States are working closely to put an end to the war in Sudan. Both sides sponsored the recent dialogue in Jeddah between the Sudanese army and its rival Rapid Support Forces which resulted in the “Jeddah Declaration of Commitment to Protect the Civilians of Sudan”.
