ISLAMABAD: Deputy Chief of Mission at the US Embassy in Islamabad Andrew Schofer called on Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Ishaq Dar on Wednesday and expressed confidence in the policies and initiatives taken recently by the government of Pakistan for its economic recovery.
As per the press release from the finance ministry, the envoy also extended US support to give further impetus to the trade and economic ties between the two countries.

Meanwhile, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar exchanged views on remarkable bilateral connections and informed the envoy of the country’s current economic challenges.
He further highlighted the difficult, challenging policy decisions recently taken by the country aimed at stabilizing the struggling economy that resulted in an upward momentum ensuring sustainable and inclusive growth in Pakistan.
The minister also informed the US diplomate about the ongoing IMF (International Monetary Fund) programme and assured him Pakistan’s commitment to complete it.
He thanked the envoy for support from the US and reiterated his government’s desire to further strenghten and expand bilateral trade and investment ties with the US.
