New York: A Federal judge in New York has rejected a defamation case filed by former US President Donald Trump against E. Jean Carroll, a former magazine columnist, western media reported.
The dismissal comes after Trump claimed that he had been defamed by the allegations of sexual abuse by a senior columnist E. Jean Carroll.
District Judge Lewis Kaplan’s ruled that E. Jean Carroll’s accusation that Donald Trump had raped her seems substantially true.
In May, A civil trial found Trump liable for sexually abusing her during an encounter in the 1990s. Trump had been trying to overturn Carroll’s win in a sexual abuse case against him.

Later Trump’s filed a countersuit saying the allegations of rape were an attempt to defame his position.
However, the recent judgment gives weight to Carroll’s allegations.
The ruling not only rejects Donald Trump’s defamation claim but also strengthens Carroll’s position as she pursues her own defamation lawsuit against him.
