WASHINGTON: The US Congressional Research Service has released a damning report highlighting gross human rights violations in India under the Modi regime.
Titled “India: Human Rights Assessment,” the report paints a bleak picture of the overall human rights situation in the South Asian country.
According to the report, there has been a significant deterioration in human rights under Prime Minister Modi’s administration. Religious minorities, including Muslims, Christians, and Sikhs, have been particularly targeted, with attacks against them witnessing a sharp increase under the BJP-led government.
Furthermore, the report points to a disturbing rise in extrajudicial killings and enforced disappearances across India. These incidents involve individuals being executed without proper legal procedures or vanishing without any explanation or legal recourse.
The report serves as a stark indictment of India’s human rights landscape, highlighting concerning trends and conditions under the Modi regime.
