TEHRAN: Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has called for the United States and Israel to face trial in the International Criminal Court (ICC) for war crimes against humanity.

President Raisi said this while addressing at the Tehran International Conference on Palestine, a gathering of global leaders, intellectuals, and media activists discussing the Israeli war of aggression against Gaza.

President Raisi underscored that the Palestinian cause is not only central to the Islamic world but is crucial for humanity as a whole. During his speech, he expressed deep regret over the consequences of Israeli atrocities, including the killing of women and children and the destruction of residential buildings in Gaza.

Raisi criticized the United States and certain Western countries for their unwarranted support for these crimes. He accused them of hindering resolutions for a ceasefire at the United Nations and providing the Zionist regime with full access to military, financial, and security resources.

“The true face of the United States and many Western powers has been exposed. They are not advocates for peace but rather one of the parties to the war,” declared President Raisi.

Raisi Condemns Israel’s Brutal Actions in Gaza

He further condemned the inefficiency of international organizations and human rights bodies in addressing the tragedy in Gaza, blaming the “unjust global order” for allowing such alleged crimes against humanity to continue. President Raisi emphasized that the Israeli occupation of Palestinian lands is the root cause of the decades-long conflict.

Calling for an immediate cessation of Israeli attacks on Gaza, President Raisi also condemned the forced displacement of Palestinians from the besieged territory, attributing it to American agendas. “The forced displacement of the people of Gaza is on the agenda of Americans,” he stated.
