ISLAMABAD: US Ambassador Donald Blome on Thursday called on the Caretaker Federal Minister for Commerce, Industries and Production Dr. Gohar Ejaz here in Islamabad and discussed issues of mutual interest and bilateral trade.
Both discussed strengthening bilateral trade ties, and fostering mutual cooperation between Pakistan and the United States.
Dr Gohar Ejaz informed that Pakistan’s government has formed a Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) aimed at attracting investments in different sectors such as Agriculture, Information Technology, Mines and Minerals, and Energy.
US companies invited to invest in Pakistan
He said that more US companies could explore the options to invest in these sectors in Pakistan.
He highlighted the government’s efforts for an economic revival plan with the envoy and talked about the importance of the economic growth of Pakistan.
The minister lauded the US government for their continued support for Pakistan.
One of the important highlights of the meeting was the exploration of potential opportunities for increasing trade in different sectors, including Textile, Vale added Food products, Dates, Soybean, and Beef.
