RAWALPINDI: Punjab home ministry on Sunday imposed section 144 in Nala Lai and its surrounding areas in district Rawalpindi for the next thirty days in light of expected urban flooding۔
As per the notification issued by the Punjab government, dumping any type of garbage into small and big drains would be prohibited, the violation of which would lead to immediate arrest and registration of case۔
Section 144 has been implemented in view of the urban flooding concerns shown by the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) due to heavy rains, a local TV reported.
Water and Sewerage Authority had recommended to Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rawalpindi to implement Section 144۔

Rain with thunderstorms and wind is expected in Sindh, south Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northeast Balochistan, Kashmir and adjoining mountainous areas during the next the 12 hours.
