RIYADH: United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini has lauded the strategic cooperation between his agency and the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Saturday. He added the cooperation aims to support needy groups and spread humanitarian help in the Gaza Strip.

After his meeting with Advisor at the Royal Court and KSrelief Supervisor General Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah at the center’s headquarters in Riyadh on Friday, Lazzarini added, “We have implemented the 1st phase of support with the center, which cost $15 million. We requested the center to continue providing basic needs for the most vulnerable groups, such as winter clothes and urgent medical materials.”

Lazzarini also explained that the partnership with the center is long-term and is based on trust, predictability, and shared future vision and goals, the SPA reported. Such a framework guides both sides in humanitarian work. He further said they focus their work not only on Gaza but also on the occupied West Bank.
