ISLAMABAD: Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi, Special Representative to PM on Religious Harmony and Pakistani Diaspora in the Middle East and Islamic Countries, on Saturday urged all Muslim nations to get united to address the long-standing disputes of Kashmir and Palestine.
During an interview with a news channel, he emphasized the importance of unity among Muslim countries to enhance security, achieve scientific advancements, generate wealth, and bolster political influence. He believed that this would lead to prosperity across the entire Islamic region.
Ashrafi said, “We as Islamic nations should try to promote a true culture of Islam in the Muslim world and describe for other people that Muslims are not violent people and terrorists.”
Furthermore, he urged the international community to shoulder its responsibilities and establish a peaceful and credible process to ensure security and peace in the region.
He called on world powers and the United Nations to intervene and prevent actions by Israel and India that pose threats to humanity, warning that overlooking these ongoing global issues could potentially lead to chaos.
He firmly stated that Pakistan would no longer remain silent about the suffering of the people in Kashmir and Palestine. He said that the Pakistani government had consistently urged Israeli leadership to cease its operations that amounted to genocide and refrain from further attacks on civilians. “Pakistan has always raised this issue and called global powers to intervene and prevent additional loss of life in Palestine due to Israel’s actions,” he added. —APP
