United Nations: The United Nations has expressed satisfaction with the formal resumption of friendly relations between Pakistan and Iran, considering it a positive development.
Following recent tensions, the envoys of both countries have returned to their respective embassies in Islamabad and Tehran. A spokesperson of the UN chief said that the UN Secretary General highlighted the significance of good relations between Iran and Pakistan for regional stability, APP reported.
The return of envoys precedes Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian’s scheduled visit to Pakistan on January 29. This development follows heightened tensions sparked by an Iranian air strike in Pakistan, prompting Islamabad’s response against terrorist hideouts in Iran’s Sistan-Baluchistan province, APP reported.
Earlier today, Pakistan Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said the envoys of Pakistan and Iran had arrived at their respective embassies in Islamabad and Tehran “as per understanding between the two countries”.
