DUBAI: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al-Nahyan has thanked the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) for evacuating UAE citizens from Sudan to Jeddah, Arab media reported on Monday.

The Minister thanked Saudi Minister for Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan during a telephone conversation on Monday and lauded the “outstanding efforts” made by KSA in carrying out evacuations in cooperation with various nations.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia evacuated over 150 citizens, including foreign diplomats and staff, from Sudan on Saturday.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s (KSA) embassy in Pakistan said that the Royal Saudi Naval Forces carried out the operation with the assistance of different branches of the armed forces on the directives of the Kingdom’s leadership.
According to APP, the evacuation plan of the government of Pakistan also met a success as more than 427 stranded citizens of Pakistan finally arrived in Port Sudan safely for their onward repatriation from Sudan.
Pakistan’s foreign office also confirmed the development and said that as many as 427 Pakistani citizens had reached Port Sudan safely and sound.
