UNITED NATIONS: An emergency session of the UN General Assembly will be held tomorrow (Thursday, October 26) to address the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
The Security Council has failed to reach a consensus on a resolution so far, primarily due to opposition from Western states led by the United States.
Following the request by Member States on the resumption of the 10th Emergency Special Session of the @UN General Assembly, I will be convening the #UNGA Emergency Special Session on Thursday, 26 October 2023.

In a letter sent to member states earlier this week, the President, Dennis Francis, revealed that he had received a request dated October 19 from Jordanian UN Ambassador Mahmoud Hmoud and Mauritanian UN Ambassador Sidi Mohamed Laghdaf, representing the Arab Group and the Organization for Islamic Cooperation. They urged the swift resumption of the 10th Emergency Special Session.
