ISLAMABAD: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has expressed deep concern regarding the atmosphere of fear and intimidation created by the Indian armed forces and their covert agencies through continuous day and night cordon and search operations as well as home raids in the Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

As reported by Kashmir Media Service (KMS), during an executive meeting held in Srinagar, the APHC stated that Indian troops, along with personnel from the National Investigation Agency and State Investigation Agency, are conducting raids on the homes of freedom-seeking Kashmiri individuals as part of a deliberate policy.

Nonetheless, the meeting asserted that India’s attempts to suppress the Kashmiri people’s struggle for their right to self-determination through state-sponsored terrorism would not succeed.

APHC leaders called on New Delhi to abandon its unyielding stance and respect the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination.

They emphasized that altering the region’s demographic composition, through the granting of so-called domicile certificates and voting rights to Indian citizens by the Hindutva-inspired BJP regime in this internationally recognized disputed territory, constitutes a significant violation of international law.

The APHC appealed to the UN Secretary-General and international human rights organizations to compel India to address the Kashmir dispute per the resolutions of the UN Security Council to establish the groundwork for a peaceful South Asia. —APP
