UN Secretary-General Calls for Immediate Ceasefires in Gaza, Sudan

NEW YORK: Secretary-General of United Nations (UN) Antonio Guterres has renewed his call for immediate ceasefires in the Gaza Strip and Sudan, emphasizing the importance of respecting the holy month of Ramadan, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Monday.

The secretary-general in a statement called for a ceasefire and removing all hurdles to ensure the delivery of life-saving humanitarian assistance in Gaza.

He voiced concerns over the outcomes of the Israeli occupation army’s expected action in Rafah.

Guterres regarding Sudan, renewed demands for an end of hostilities, calling for a pause to fighting in the interest of the people of Sudan. He asked political, religious, and community leaders across the world to do all they could to make peace in the war hit areas.
