UN and Saudi Arabian: UNWTO Adopt Resolution to Boost Tourism

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) has succeeded in the formation of a Saudi-Spain-UNWTO working group to bring significant changes to the tourism industry worldwide.

The suggestion had been promoted by KSA since December 2021. The resolution of Saudi Arabia was approved by the working group in Marrakech. The proposal will still need the formal endorsement of the UNWTO head.

Represent every part of globe

The key aim of the working group is to represent every part of the globe including America and Africa and to make the world forum more inclusive, more resilient, and more sustainable than ever.

It may be recalled that the group will hold meetings at least bi-annually.

Saudi Arab Minister for Tourism Ahmed Al-Khateeb said that the resolution is the first key step by Saudi Arabia. He said that the volume between Saudi Arabia and Spain is $3.5 billion annually.
